Pat + Rui = Love

I just sent the photos to the bride. She tells me that she's emotional and she can't stop looking at them. And this is why I love my job!
Pat and Rui got married in a *beautiful* sunny day in December and I flew to Lisbon to do the photos. If you've never been to Lisbon before, this is what the Winter there looks like.
The photos shown here were taken after the ceremony, on a stroll down Avenida da Liberdade, one of the main avenues in Lisbon.
I have to thank the couple for being so amazing and for trusting me entirely. It was a very special day that I got to share with them. I am very honoured!

This year's wedding season is about to begin. If you love my work and are getting married soon, please get in touch to book your photo shoot. I cover small and big ceremonies, in the UK and abroad. Just drop me a line using the contact page to know more.

I also created a little slideshow that you can see here. Enjoy. :)

Women's March — London 2017

I'm so glad I could join this beautiful march. Londoners from all walks of life united in a beautiful feminist march against hate and bigotry.

Portrait in Lisbon

I met with Sofia Tonicher, Head of Production at Midas Filmes for lunch at the recently renovated Palácio Chiado in downtown Lisbon, Portugal.
We've been friends for many years and it's not the first time I photograph her.
I saw an opportunity for a portrait when we saw the frescos. Such a classic setting with beautiful yet low key natural light, I had to take that chance.
We had been talking about Portuguese cinema and I think I took that as an inspiration.

Babis Alexiadis and Ron Arad's Curtain Call

Go visit if you can, the amazing installation Ron Arad's Curtain Call at the Roundhouse in London.
One of the artists, Babis Alexiadis (very talented animator!!) asked me to photograph his animation and so I did. It is beautiful! You are surrounded by magic! Just go before it ends!

And this is Babis, posing for my portrait. Thank you Babis!!!

J + J — Wedding shoot

Everytime I think London has shown  me everything, I discover new people and new cultures.
Two weeks ago I partnered up with Alicia's Bridal to shoot this young and traditional asian wedding.
I know I keep saying this, but being among happy families just fills my heart with joy. I love family shoots and celebrations and this one was a lot of fun all through out the day.
J. and J. are such a cute couple, I wish them all the luck in the world!!

I'm available for Wedding photoshoots in the UK and abroad. Just use the contact page to get in touch and book your own.

Brexit — Referendum Day

Usually I write good things and show pictures of love and happiness. After yesterday's referendum, I can't. I feel like a good friend has passed away.
I went out yesterday to photograph the mood in the streets of London, it was raining massively and people looked generally sad and anxious. This is what I brought home — pictures of sadness.
I will resume with news from happy photoshoots tomorrow, because life goes on, but for today, this is all I have.

Maternity shoot — so much love!!

There's a little baby in M.'s belly. A cute little baby!! And I can't wait to meet her!!!

Emotions and sunshine!

"Adoroooooooooo todas!!!!!!!!!!!! Estou um pouco emocionada!"
"I looooooove all of them!!!!!! I'm even a bit emocional!!!"

When the first feedback you get from a family photoshoot is this, you know you did a very good job!
I met with Patrícia and her beautiful family in Lisbon, Príncipe Real Garden and then walked with them to the University Botanical Gardens that are absolutely amazing.
The day was warm and the sun brought happiness to all. The family coordinated outfits for the shoot and they all looked fab!
Little princess L. set the pace of the shoot and became the star of these photos!
We ended the shoot with a couple of portraits of beautiful Patrícia to celebrate her birthday.

The nightingale garden // A horta dos rouxinois

It is because of her love of Nature that Maria José Bernardino, choreographer and dance teacher from Almada, goes every weekend to the village of Seda, Alter do Chão, where she owns and tends a vegetable garden by a brook.

Every story told by Maria José is born here. She has worked with this garden for 18 years, more recently with permaculture.
Here she observes little saplings sprouting, and the land, very fertile, overflowing with life.
This is where she feeds her dreams and creative spirit.
It’s the perfect ecosystem — she tells me. Where no fertilisers or insecticides are allowed, the earth regenerates in harmony.
The land gives back in gratitude for the dedication it receives.

É um ecossistema perfeito — diz-me. Neste terreno não entram nem fertilizantes nem insecticidas e a horta regenera-se em harmonia.
O que a terra recebe com dedicação, retribui com gratidão.
